These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of alphapublishingstudio.com and the writing, editing, design, publishing and marketing services provided by Alpha Publishing Studio (“Alpha”, “we”, “us”). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our services
We provide services for authors, including book writing and ghostwriting, editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, publishing support, book marketing and author websites. The scope, deliverables, timeline and price of each project are set out in a written quote, proposal or order that you approve. If that document conflicts with these Terms, the document governs for that project.
2. Quotes, fees and payment
- Quotes are estimates based on the information you give us and are valid for the period stated in the quote.
- Fees, deposits and payment schedules are as stated in your agreed quote. Work may begin once the required deposit is received.
- Work outside the agreed scope, such as additional words, extra revision rounds or new services, may be charged separately and will be quoted to you first.
- Third-party costs, such as retailer or printing fees, ISBN registration or advertising spend, are not included unless stated.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and materials, respond to requests and give feedback in a timely manner, and review and approve deliverables at each stage. Delays in your responses may delay delivery. You confirm that you own, or have the right to use, all content you provide, and that it does not infringe the rights of others or break the law, including copyright, privacy and defamation laws.
4. Ownership and rights
You remain the author and owner of your work. Subject to full payment, you own the final deliverables we create for you, including ghostwritten text, edited manuscripts, covers and interior layouts, for the uses described in your agreement. You keep the rights and the royalties your book earns. Where we use licensed third-party materials, such as stock images or fonts, they remain subject to their own licences. Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we may show non-confidential finished covers as examples of our work, without disclosing manuscript content.
5. Timelines and revisions
We aim to deliver within the timeframes in your quote, but dates depend on project length, complexity and your timely feedback, so they are estimates rather than guarantees. The number of included revision rounds is stated in your quote; further revisions may be charged.
6. Publishing platforms and results
Publishing and distribution are carried out through third-party platforms, such as Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, which have their own terms, approval processes and fees. We do not control these platforms or their decisions. While we work to a high professional standard, we cannot guarantee book sales, rankings, reviews, royalties or any particular commercial result.
7. Confidentiality
We treat your manuscript, ideas and project materials as confidential and share them only with the professionals and service providers who need them to complete your project, under confidentiality obligations.
8. Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel a project by notifying us in writing. Work already completed and costs already incurred remain payable. Deposits and refunds are handled as set out in your agreed quote or agreement; unless it says otherwise, fees for work already delivered are non-refundable. We will always discuss a fair resolution with you if you are not satisfied.
9. Use of the website
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce harmful code, or use it in any unlawful way. All website content, branding and design are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.
10. Disclaimers
Our website and information on it are provided “as is” and for general information only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing on this website is legal, tax or financial advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alpha will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, sales or royalties. Our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the fees you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless your agreement states otherwise. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Changes apply to future use of the website and to new projects; an agreed quote for an existing project is not changed without your consent.
14. Privacy
How we collect and use personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
